Somerset Academy Wellington opened in August 2004 as a K-8 school. The school was founded by educators from Palm Beach County who wanted to provide parents with an alternative to the traditional public school system. The founders of Somerset Academy Wellington believed that all children deserve a quality education, regardless of their economic background. 

The school’s first campus was located on 10 acres of land donated by the Village of Wellington. In 2006, the school added a high school program and moved to a larger campus on 20 acres of land donated by the Village of Wellington. 

Since its inception, Somerset Academy Wellington has grown rapidly. Today, the school serves over 1,600 students in grades K-12. The school has been recognized for its academic excellence, and its students have consistently outperformed the state average on standardized tests. 

Somerset Academy Wellington is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The school is also a member of the National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) and the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools (NAPCS).
